About This Product
Australia's Most Popular AdBlue Format
The AdBlue 1000L IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) is the most widely used AdBlue supply format for Australian businesses. It is a 1,000-litre HDPE container mounted on a standard pallet, pre-filled with ISO 22241-certified AdBlue and ready for immediate use with an electric pump kit or gravity dispensing kit.
It strikes the ideal balance between cost-per-litre, ease of handling, and storage footprint — making it the go-to choice for transport depots, agricultural operations, construction sites, fuel retailers, and any business running diesel equipment that requires a consistent, reliable AdBlue supply without the infrastructure investment of a dedicated bulk storage tank.
All Bauly Chemicals AdBlue — including the 1000L IBC — is manufactured in Australia by VDA-licensed factories under strict ISO 22241 quality control. This guarantees the precise 32.5% urea concentration required to protect your SCR catalysts and maintain your engine manufacturer warranty.

Dispensing Equipment
Pump Kits for Your AdBlue 1000L IBC
A pump kit is required to safely dispense AdBlue from your IBC into your vehicle or equipment. Bauly Chemicals supplies two options — both using AdBlue-safe materials to prevent contamination.
240V Electric Pump Kit — IBC
Mains-powered 240V electric pump kit designed specifically for dispensing AdBlue from a 1000L IBC. Includes pump, hose, nozzle, and all HDPE/SS fittings. Fast flow rate — ideal for transport depots and high-volume users who need quick, reliable dispensing.
IBC Gravity Dispensing Kit
No-power gravity-fed dispensing kit for locations without access to mains power. The IBC is elevated on a stand and AdBlue flows by gravity through an HDPE hose with a manual shut-off nozzle. Ideal for farms, remote sites, and construction locations off the grid.
⚠️
Important — Never Use Standard Pumps
Always use pumps, hoses, and fittings specifically rated for AdBlue. Standard water or chemical pumps made from carbon steel, brass, copper, or zinc will contaminate AdBlue and damage your SCR catalyst. Bauly’s pump kits use only HDPE and 316L stainless steel components — the only materials approved for AdBlue contact by ISO 22241-3.

Who Uses AdBlue 1000L IBC?
The Right AdBlue Format for Every Industry
The 1000L IBC is the preferred choice for Australian businesses that consume AdBlue regularly but don’t yet need — or have the infrastructure for — bulk tanker delivery.
🚛
Transport & Logistics
Small to medium transport fleets and linehaul depots. One or two IBCs per week provides a cost-effective, manageable supply for depots without bulk tank infrastructure.
⛏️
Mining
Smaller mining operations, exploration camps, and contractors where bulk tanker delivery is not practical. IBCs can be transported by flat-bed to remote locations.
🌾
Agriculture
The ideal pre-harvest stocking format for farms. One or two IBCs covers a typical small farm's seasonal AdBlue requirement for tractors, harvesters, and combines.
🏗️
Construction
Project sites running excavators, graders, and loaders. IBCs are portable and can move between project sites, making them perfect for construction contractors without fixed depots.
⛽
Fuel Retailers
Service stations supplying AdBlue from a bowser or on-site storage. IBCs are the standard resupply format for fuel retailers across Australia.
🚌
Commercial Fleets
Bus operators, courier fleets, and municipal vehicle depots. IBCs provide a neat, compact depot storage solution for fleets of 10–50 vehicles.

Filling & Storage Guide
How to Fill Up and Store AdBlue Correctly
Correct filling and storage of AdBlue is critical to protecting your SCR system. Follow these guidelines to avoid contamination and maximise shelf life.
Filling Your Vehicle
📍
Locate the AdBlue Filler Cap
Most diesel vehicles have a separate blue filler cap for AdBlue, usually located next to the diesel filler. It is typically smaller than the diesel cap and clearly labelled “AdBlue” or “DEF”. On some trucks it may be located in the cabin or on the chassis.
🚫
Never Put AdBlue in the Diesel Tank
AdBlue must never be added to the diesel fuel tank. If AdBlue is accidentally added to the diesel tank, do not start the engine. Have the vehicle towed to a service agent immediately — the entire fuel system will need flushing. This is a very expensive repair.
⚠️
Use AdBlue-Specific Equipment Only
Only use pump kits, hoses, and nozzles specifically rated for AdBlue. Standard metal fittings made from copper, brass, zinc, or carbon steel will contaminate the product and damage your SCR catalyst. Bauly’s pump kits use only HDPE and 316L stainless steel components.
Storing Your IBC
🌡️
Temperature Range: 0°C to 30°C
Store your AdBlue IBC in a cool, shaded location away from direct sunlight. The ideal storage temperature range is 0–30°C. At these temperatures, shelf life is 12–18 months. Prolonged exposure above 35°C will degrade the urea concentration and reduce shelf life.
❄️
Freezing Point: -11°C
AdBlue freezes at -11°C. In cold climates, store the IBC in a sheltered, frost-free area. Frozen AdBlue is not damaged by freezing — once thawed at room temperature, it returns to full specification. However, a frozen IBC cannot be dispensed until fully thawed.
🔒
Keep the IBC Sealed
Always reseal the IBC outlet and vent cap firmly after each use. Leaving the IBC open causes evaporation of the water component, which increases the urea concentration above the ISO 22241 specification limit and can damage SCR catalysts.

Frequently Asked Questions
AdBlue 1000L IBC — Common Questions
Answers to the most common questions from Australian customers buying AdBlue in 1000L IBC format.
What is an AdBlue 1000L IBC?
An AdBlue 1000L IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) is a 1,000-litre pallet-mounted container filled with ISO 22241-certified AdBlue. It sits on a standard pallet and is dispensed via an electric pump kit or gravity kit directly into your vehicle or equipment AdBlue tank. It is Australia’s most popular AdBlue supply format for medium-volume users.
How many trucks can a 1000L IBC of AdBlue fill?
A 1000L IBC will provide approximately 25–33 full fills for a heavy prime mover with a 30–40 litre AdBlue tank, or approximately 50–100 fills for a light commercial vehicle with a 10–20 litre tank. For passenger cars, a single IBC provides approximately 100–200 top-ups. See our coverage guide above for a full breakdown by vehicle type.
Do I need a pump to use the 1000L IBC?
Yes — a pump kit or gravity kit is required to dispense AdBlue from the IBC. Bauly Chemicals supplies a 240V electric pump kit (ideal for depots with mains power) and a gravity dispensing kit (for off-grid locations such as farms and remote sites). Both use HDPE and stainless steel components that are safe for AdBlue contact.
Is Bauly Chemicals AdBlue 1000L ISO 22241 certified?
Yes. All AdBlue supplied by Bauly Chemicals is manufactured in VDA-licensed Australian factories and certified to ISO 22241. This guarantees the precise 32.5% urea concentration required to protect SCR catalysts and maintain engine manufacturer warranties. A Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Do I need a forklift to receive a 1000L IBC delivery?
A forklift or heavy-duty pallet jack is strongly recommended to receive a 1000L AdBlue IBC delivery. When full, the IBC weighs approximately 1,087 kg. Our delivery drivers can tailgate to ground level in some cases, but you will need a forklift or pallet jack to move the IBC into your storage location. Please advise us of your site access when placing your order.
How long does AdBlue last in a 1000L IBC
When stored correctly at 0–30°C in a shaded location with the IBC sealed, AdBlue has a shelf life of 12–18 months. Storage above 35°C or in direct sunlight reduces shelf life. Always keep the IBC outlet and vent cap firmly sealed when not in use to prevent evaporation and contamination from dust or insects.
About AdBlue 1000L IBC Supply in Australia
Buy AdBlue 1000L IBC — Australia's Trusted Supplier
The AdBlue 1000L IBC is Australia’s most widely used AdBlue supply format, and for good reason. It delivers significantly lower cost-per-litre than drums or small containers, while remaining practical for operations that haven’t yet invested in bulk storage infrastructure. For the vast majority of Australian transport companies, farms, construction businesses, and fuel retailers consuming between 1,000 and 10,000 litres of AdBlue per month, the 1000L IBC is the optimal supply format.
Bauly Chemicals supplies ISO 22241-certified AdBlue in 1000L IBCs manufactured in VDA-licensed Australian factories. Every IBC contains the same rigorously quality-controlled product as our bulk tanker supply — 32.5% aqueous urea solution tested against all parameters of the ISO 22241 standard, including urea content, density, pH, alkalinity, and trace element concentrations. Your SCR system is fully protected.
Australia’s transport and logistics sector is the largest consumer of AdBlue 1000L IBCs nationally. For owner-operators running a small fleet of prime movers, a standing order of one or two IBCs per fortnight provides reliable, cost-effective supply without the capital outlay of a bulk storage tank. Bauly Chemicals services transport customers across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Darwin with competitive IBC pricing and reliable delivery lead times.
For Australian farmers and agricultural contractors, the AdBlue 1000L IBC is the definitive pre-harvest supply format. Modern tractors, harvesters, spray equipment, and agricultural machinery run on Euro-stage-equivalent engines requiring continuous AdBlue supply. Stocking one or two IBCs ahead of harvest season eliminates the risk of operations grinding to a halt due to AdBlue shortage at the most critical time of the agricultural calendar.
Construction companies value the IBC format for its portability. Unlike bulk storage, an IBC can be moved between project sites on a flat-bed truck, ensuring continuous AdBlue supply wherever the machinery is working. A single IBC typically covers a week or more of consumption for a site running several excavators, graders, and loaders.
For fuel retailers and service stations supplying AdBlue to their customers, the 1000L IBC is the standard resupply format — connecting directly to a bowser pump or dispensing directly into customer vehicles. Bauly Chemicals offers wholesale pricing for fuel retail customers purchasing multiple IBCs. Contact us to discuss volume pricing and standing order arrangements that ensure you never run short during peak demand periods.
